Queen Elizabeth I (7 September 1533 – 24 March 1603) was queen regnant of England and Ireland from 17 November 1558 until her death. She never married, although she received many offers for her hand; the reasons for this are not clear.
With Elizabeth's defensive foreign policy dealing with France and Spain, her 44 years on the throne had provided the rise of Great Britain.
